780 Bertone! Ask El_Uly how much the bespoke trim and lights for these cost sometime.

Next to nothing I would assume if there happens to be a junkyard parting them out nearby...

Good luck finding a 780 in a yard, let alone a nice one! If any are left, they’ve been picked over by the enthusiasts for the specific stuff. Factory stuff, what’s still available, is obscenely spendy.

Ah, I guess I’m just used to having too many 780s running around here...

I’ve seen at least two other parts listings and a total of three cars in the past six months.

I’m not far south of you, but if my time on Turbobricks and my Volvo buddies are anything to go by, those cars will be stripped of the good stuff in months and crushed.

The second one has potential since it’s a B-series I4 car. If it had a PRV it would have been scrap long ago.

The thing about the V6 780 is, they finally sorted out the PRV, more or less fixed its usual problems... then cancelled the damn car. They pulled a GM with the Fiero GT. Sort it, cancel it.

Well they sorted it as in they made it break less. I think the I4 was still more reliable, more powerful, and easier to tune thus it was more desirable. The second-gen PRV only made sense in French cars where it was the only alternative they had to some measly carcinogenic diesels and weak Poissy/Douvrin suitcase engines.

That’s absolutely true, I’d take a B230FT over many, many other engines.

I’ve seen a couple of them on the junkyard:
